Growing Pains

I think that many of us can agree that dogs are not just dogs.. They’re family. With that being said, my dogs have been with me through most of my life. They’ve been through some of my greatest moments with me, and some of my worst.. But through it all, there they both sat; through many long talks, many kisses and hugs, and many tears.

My boys are both getting pretty old now.. Keahno will be 17 this year, and Tre’ will be 12. Seeing them getting older, and realizing what little time I have left with them both breaks my heart some days. Keahno, (my little one) has his days.. Some days he stumbles around and acts lost, and other days he acts like a pup again. Then we have Tre’, who use to run around and play fetch for hours, without ever getting tired.. Now you toss his favorite Wubba bear toy and he’ll fetch it twice before taking it with him to find a comfy spot to lay and catch his breath.

Those are the days when I sit and reflect. These two dogs have been with me since I was a little girl, and they’ve grown up right along side me. I couldn’t imagine my life growing up without these two, and they’ve 100% made an impact on the person that I am today. I know they say that dogs are a man’s best friend, but these two.. No doubt, they’re a girl’s best friend.. And they will be until the end. Until then, I’ll just sit here and love on the both of them all that I can, and let them know just how much they are loved, day in and day out.

Tell me all about your dogs! I’d love to hear your stories!

Xo, Jennah Rae
